This is super Unique Usuba is made only by Mr. Tokifusa Iizuka for 40+ years ago !!! When he was in his 30th
When i talked to Shigefusa my last japan trip he told me that his old knives was harder, had bit pure steel and was in general made for Japanese marked. So very hard :)
Also thats why you see some very light blackish lines on laminations on some of the knives, they will not affect anything or get bigger as those knives staid like that for over 40 years :)
This old stock knives is different then new ones. I think Fit and finish on those is as excellent as now !
Kitaeji pattern is bit different, Kanji is made different as Mr. Tokifusa was just learning making kanjis on his knives.
They as now have all Natural Stone finish and all been sharpened on natural stones by Mr. Tokifusa Iizuka him self !
