JNS Stones

Everything I sell for sharpening is here: Japanese natural stones mined around Kyoto, the JNS synthetic stones I have made in Japan to my own preferences, and the naguras, finger stones and flattening plates that go with them.

I test every stone myself before it goes on the site, on razors, knives and tools. Each one gets its own description with relative hardness and best use. If you are not sure which stone fits you, email me first and I will help you pick.

One important thing: seal your stones, natural or synthetic. Any waterproof lacquer works, or simply glue the stone to a wooden base. That is what makes them last a lifetime.
